Stefano Bigi for Porada: dining table Infinity I
Round dining table made of solid Canaletta walnut on metal base and with tempered glass top.
Stefano Bigi (France 1974) made his international breakthrough as a young top designer with this beautiful design for the Infinity dining table. Since 2005, he has settled in Milan and runs Stefano Bigi Design Studio, collaborating with several leading contemporary furniture manufacturers such as Architonic, Nomon Home, Pacini & Cappelinni, MatteoGrassi and Porada.
The idea behind Stefano Bigi's work is a thorough investigation into the right balance between aesthetics and comfort, form and function in an attempt to create a design that goes beyond the rules of perception and at the same time meets the needs of the user.
« I draw furniture for those who see so much more in a chair than a seat with four legs. I try to create emotion, invite people to sit down or use my furniture when they face them. For me, a piece of furniture is not just the product of a designer, it is the result of the collaboration between the designer's insight and the manufacturer's technical skills, between the form and the technical imperatives. Achieving a balance between innovation and rationalization is the engine that drives me to new horizons. »
