About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This armchair is an authentic re-edition of the „Lyra“ armchair, originally designed in 1935 for Poltrona Frau. The piece embodies the elegance and comfort characteristic of early 20th-century Italian design and represents an icon in the history of furniture design.
Crafted from the finest white calf leather, this armchair stands on four sturdy dark wood feet. The construction follows the original technique from 1935, as confirmed by the plaque on the back. A special detail is the hand-crafted trim of leather-covered nails that traces the contour of the rounded backrest. This piece is part of a limited edition and bears the number 9960, emphasizing its exclusivity.
The armchair is in very well-maintained condition and shows only minimal signs of wear, consistent with the character of the leather. The upholstery is firm and comfortable, and the structure is completely intact. The accompanying lumbar cushion with the embroidered „Frau“ lettering is also present, highlighting the brand identity.
With its timeless form and neutral color scheme, the Lyra armchair seamlessly integrates into various interior styles, from classic to modern. It is perfectly suited as a reading armchair in a library, as an accent piece in a living room, or as a representative seating furniture in an office.
