Terracotta sculpture with a bronze-green patina, entirely in the Art Deco style. Depicting a man in the throes of physical exertion, firmly braced against his torso to bend a tree trunk. Registered design JP, signed on the base "BON" or BONI. In the style of G. HERVOR: pseudonym of JEAN DE RONCOURT - late 19th/early 20th century - the most renowned French sculptor of the male figure in the 1920s/... And in the style of Ugo CIPRIANI, born in Florence, Italy, on August 13, 1887, died in Paris on June 18, 1960, an Italian sculptor and son of the sculptor Adolfo Cipriani. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, he worked with marble, terracotta, bronze, and alabaster in the spirit of the Art Deco movement of the 1920s.
