This triptych 'Embrace' by the Polish-Dutch artist Piotr Konkel is a striking example of contemporary screen printing. Produced in 2005, the work displays a layered composition in which abstract and figurative elements come together.
The screen prints are made (paper glued onto) sturdy board and are characterized by rich and expressive use of color. The panels show a dynamic mix of red, blue, yellow, and purple, combined with graphic lines and anatomical sketches. Each panel is numbered and signed by the artist, confirming the authenticity and limited edition of the work.
The artwork is in good condition, with the colors retaining their original brightness. Each panel has some minor damage to the paper, but this is barely noticeable. The edges of the board are neatly finished with black paint, contributing to the modern appearance of the whole.
One panel has a hanging loop; the other two do not.
This triptych comes into its own particularly well in a modern or industrial interior. It offers a powerful visual statement and can be presented either as a continuous series or as separate panels, depending on the available wall space. The 3 panels can be placed either side-by-side or one below the other.
Each panel measures 83 x 40 cm. The panel is 4 cm thick.

Pjotr Konkel is a versatile Polish-Dutch artist, born in 1963 in Poland. He trained at the graphic arts department of the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague, where he further refined his unique vision and technique. “Return to Innocence” forms the guiding principle in his oeuvre and reflects his search for purity and authenticity in the contemporary world.
Konkel’s work moves on the boundary between abstraction and realism, in which he subtly weaves together human emotions, architectural forms, and the interplay between light and shadow. His paintings and sculptures, characterized by bold color combinations and refined textures, create an atmosphere that is both inviting and challenging. Each work tells a story and invites the viewer to look further and rediscover the meaning of forms and spaces.
With exhibitions in various European cities, Konkel is steadily building his reputation as an artist who succeeds in connecting classical elements of the visual arts with a contemporary, introspective vision.
