Krásná Jizba, the design arm of ÚĽUV Bratislava, was a leading force in Central European design during the mid-20th century. Their work combined functional modernism with traditional craftsmanship, resulting in objects that were both innovative and timeless.
This beautiful wall lamp from the 1950s features pine veneer slats, expertly arranged to form a delicate and sculptural shade. The lamp is suspended by an electrical wire attached to a wooden frame that mounts directly to the wall, giving it a light and airy presence.
Still bearing its original label, this piece confirms its authenticity and heritage. In wonderful condition after 70 years, it remains a testament to the durability and elegance of postwar Czechoslovakian design.
