My fascination with trees has gradually become known, I call them tree portraits. Visible in the form is what has happened in the life of the tree.
Happily grown freely, reaching for the sky, but also ravaged, bent by the wind, torn off, sawn and chopped, with fertile seasons and always a home for birds and insects. Trees live in a different time zone with ages far exceeding ours.

The frame is a recycled mahogany frame, with some signs of use.
After his education at the Academy of Fine Arts Rotterdam and Pratt Institute in New York, he mainly worked as an architect. He has been drawing realistically his entire life.
Subjects are mainly character sketches of nature.
Work can be found in private collections in Europe and the USA.
