This modular shelving system was designed by Tjerk Reijenga for the Dutch manufacturer Pilastro. The piece is a representative example of Dutch Mid-Century design, embodying the functional and minimalist aesthetic of the 1950s and 1960s.
The system consists of black lacquered metal ladders, on which various elements such as shelves, a desk module, and cabinets with sliding doors can be flexibly arranged. The sheet steel construction is robust and durable. The color palette with elements in red, yellow, blue, green, grey, and black is characteristic of the era and allows for individual and lively wall design.
The shelving unit is in a condition consistent with its age and use, showing an authentic patina. The modular design offers versatile configuration options to adapt to various spatial conditions and needs. This set includes additional parts that allow for the construction of another small shelving unit.
