This double-sided low cupboard, known as “5-Hole Rack” or "File Rack” by Pierre Jeanneret, made in teak, was designed for the city of Chandigarh in India, the utopian city designed by his cousin Le Corbusier. A sideboard with four similar compartments and one double compartment at the side higher up. The legs are formed by the body's two side panels. The reduced shape creates a raw, very sharp, and fierce piece. Avoiding any nonsense and otiose, it almost has a Japanese design character. All joints are hidden so that the patinated wood and clear shape are visible. Use it as a bookshelf, sideboard, or even as a room divider.
