These recognizable lamps were produced from the 70s and 80s and were intended for light therapy and relieving muscle pain through infrared heat. The design consists of a ribbed, black plastic housing, a chrome-plated metal bracket that serves as a stand, and a wide shade. Originally, it contains a special red 150 watt infrared incandescent lamp (included), but due to the standard E27 fitting, the fixture is now also often used as a retro desk lamp or design spot with a regular LED or incandescent lamp.
