Mid-Century design icon & hi-fi rarity from the 1960s.
For sale is an exceptional complete system from the pioneering era of stereo technology: a complete luxury stereo system Philips Capella Stereo (model F8D31A) from the early 1960s. This ensemble is an absolute highlight for lovers of Mid-Century design, audiophiles, and collectors. While individual consoles can occasionally be found, this complete set in identical furniture design is extremely rare on the market. What's special about this set: In addition to the main console, the two original, external Philips loudspeakers (sound baffles) are included. These were acquired as exclusive accessories at the time. The ingenious design: The small cabinets also serve as disguised LP furniture (record stands) with matching compartments and a folding mechanism. (Dimensions: Width: 41 cm, Height 68xm, Depth: 40cm)
Condition & Aesthetics: In a very beautiful, well-maintained optical condition appropriate for its age, with a wonderful patina. Perfect as a representative Mid-Century design furniture piece. Technology: The radio lights up when switched on, but currently no sound is reproduced. The record player is currently not working. The set is therefore explicitly offered as a restoration object for connoisseurs of tube technology or as noble Decorative Objects.
