Regule pheasant on marble base - Art Deco style, in the spirit of René André Varnier
A superb example of timeless Art Deco style. This elegant statue depicts a pheasant, a refined bird recognizable by its long tail and crest on the back of its head. Made of patinated regula with dark bronze and gold highlights, it is mounted on a magnificent natural stone base, clad in a light pink veined marble veneer, with black contrasts to great effect.
The style and movement of this piece recall the works of René André Varnier, a French sculptor from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, renowned for his stylized, lively animal representations.
