About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a charming ceramic sculpture by Belgian artist Elisabeth Vandeweghe, made for Perignem. The work, depicting a kneeling girl, captures a moment of peace and introspection and is a beautiful example of Belgian Mid-Century design.
The sculpture is made of ceramic and has a height of 40 cm. The finish combines a matte, earthy brown for the skin and hair with a glossy, off-white glaze for the dress. This technique is characteristic of the artistic production of Perignem, a studio known for its experimental and high-quality ceramics in the post-war period.
The overall condition of the sculpture is very good, retaining its original textures and colors. The subtle expression and soft forms give the work a timeless and endearing appearance. It is an authentic piece that adds character and a touch of art history to any space, perfect for a dresser, bookshelf, or as part of a collection.
