The cut is clean, the design regular from one edge to the other. Placed on the floor, alone or facing each other, they act as a partition without closing off and a bookcase without a cabinet. Room screens belong to the common repertoire of French architecture of the 1950s and 1960s, where perforated sheet metal entered the domestic vocabulary: Mathieu Matégot named his Rigitulle in 1952.
