Product description
This pendant lamp was designed by Carlo Nason for the Italian manufacturer A.V. Mazzega in Murano during the 1970s. The shade is crafted from thick, hand-formed Murano glass with an organic bell silhouette that flares outward into a wide, undulating lower rim. The upper section features a dense concentration of dark amber, bronze, and copper-toned inclusions with fine trapped air bubbles, which gradually transitions into clear, heavily textured glass resembling irregular ice formations along the bottom edge.
The glass shade is suspended from a geometric, trapezoidal brass-toned metal loop attached to the top cap, leading up to a rectangular ceiling canopy. When illuminated, the irregular thickness of the glass and the metallic-toned inclusions cast patterned light and warm reflections across the surrounding walls and ceiling. Its proportions make it suitable as a central fixture over a dining table, in a living area, or within an entryway project seeking authentic 1970s Italian lighting design.
