Product description
A pendant lamp designed by Paul Secon for the German manufacturer Sompex. This piece is an iconic example of Space Age design from the 70s, known for its complex geometric shape and the use of acrylic thread.
The construction consists of a transparent plexiglass frame over which nylon thread is stretched. This technique creates a fascinating moiré effect when the lamp is lit, resulting in a dynamic play of light and shadow. The lampshade has a warm, beige hue and an organic, wavy silhouette characteristic of Secon's work from this period.
The lamp is in good vintage condition, consistent with its age. The original structure and wiring are intact, preserving its sculptural quality and unique light diffusion. The fixture shows character and authenticity.
This pendant lamp is a statement piece that fits perfectly into a Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, or eclectic interior. It functions well as ambient lighting above a dining table, in a seating area, or as a striking object in a hallway.
