About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Original vintage secretary desk, model CB07, designed by Cees Braakman for the Dutch manufacturer Pastoe. A beautiful piece of furniture from the 'birch series' with a warm and light appearance. A characteristic example of Dutch design from the post-war reconstruction period.
The upper part has a fold-down flap that serves as a writing surface, with storage compartments behind it and a corresponding double letter tray. The lower compartment with two doors provides additional storage space with an internal shelf. Complete with original locks and keys and the characteristic elegant loop legs introduced by Braakman. The secretary desk offers an ideal and compact workspace.
Signed on the back by Cees Braakman and provided with the original factory stamp and model number (CB07). The dating on the back confirms production in 1955.
The overall condition of the secretary desk is in accordance with its age and use. In good condition with minor damage. The internal work surface is partly discolored dark. A piece of birch wood has come loose from the flap; this piece is still present and will be included. It is easily repairable.
