Original Ruster Armchair by Yngve Ekström, designed in 1957. A classic of Scandinavian mid-century design, produced by Swedish Swedese and included in the Pastoe collection in the Netherlands.
This is the so-called 'ladies' model', the version with a low backrest. The Ruster was also available as a men's model with a higher back.
The armchair was re-upholstered approximately ten years ago with a high-quality light beige/ecru upholstery fabric from De Ploeg and is still in excellent condition. The fabric is beautiful and intact, the wooden frame is well-maintained and oiled, and the construction is completely solid. No damage.
