About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
The Pastoe FM08 swivel armchair is a recognizable piece of Dutch Design that combines functionality and progressive aesthetics. This specific model stands out due to its sharp, geometric lines and the strong contrast between the dark outer shell and the vibrant upholstery, making it a timeless addition to modern interiors.
The armchair consists of a sturdy, contoured seat shell resting on a minimalist, black metal four-star base with a smooth swivel mechanism. The exterior is finished in a sleek black shade, while the interior features removable, bright red cushions made of sturdy textile. This combination of materials and colors emphasizes the architectural approach for which the Dutch manufacturer Pastoe is known. The design dates from the heyday of post-war modernism and reflects the drive for innovative production methods of that era.
The furniture is in good vintage condition, befitting its age and previous use. The original finish has been preserved, with the shell and base displaying an authentic character. The red cushions still offer a comfortable seating experience and form a strong visual element within the overall design.
The height is adjustable. No play, swivels smoothly.
This swivel armchair comes into its own perfectly in a minimalist living room, a creative workspace, or a quiet reading nook. Its distinctive silhouette combines effortlessly with both sleek, contemporary furniture and other vintage design classics.
