Product description
An authentic Pastoe CB01 cabinet, designed by Cees Braakman in the 1950s. This piece of furniture is a representative example of the birch wood series, known for its clean lines and functionality, characteristic of post-war Dutch design.
This specific piece, produced in January 1959 as indicated by the original stamp, is crafted from birch wood with a warm, honey-colored finish. The design is characterized by the iconic 'loop legs' of bent wood, a signature of Braakman. The interior includes a drop-down flap that can serve as a writing surface or bar, various cabinet compartments with shelves, and internal drawers for organized storage.
The cabinet is in good, original condition consistent with its age. The patina that has formed over the years contributes to the unique character of the piece. The construction is solid, and the original keys are present, emphasizing the authenticity and completeness of the item.
With its versatile functionality, this piece of furniture is suitable as a compact secretary in a home office, as a bar cabinet in a living room, or as an elegant storage unit in a dining room. It fits seamlessly into an interior with a preference for Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian, or Dutch Design.
