Product description
A rare design icon for the true connoisseur.
Offered from a curated collection: a magnificent, brutalist design vase and sculpture by the celebrated French designer Pascal Mourgue (1943–2014) from the 1980s. This specific object is a masterpiece of postmodern minimalism and an absolute eye-catcher in any high-end vintage, modern, or industrial interior.
100% Authentic & Signed
This is an original, rare early example. Its authenticity is unequivocally guaranteed by the original, deeply cast signature "P. Mourgue" in the iconic ribbed structure (see detail photo).
Design & Aesthetics
The object is crafted from heavy, robust cast aluminum and features an asymmetrical, wavy shape with pronounced ribbed lines. The fascinating contrast between the raw, industrial texture on the sides and the smoothly polished top edge gives the vase incredible dynamism and depth effect as soon as light falls on it. The object functions perfectly as a design vase, but comes into its own just as powerfully as a solitary art object (sculpture).
Condition
The vase is in very good, impeccable vintage condition without dents or disturbing scratches. The characteristic cast structure has remained completely intact, contributing to the unique brutalist appearance of this piece.
