Product description
Paris Match, issue 833, March 27, 1965. This issue is one of the most sought-after in the history of Paris Match. On the cover, a striking portrait of Alexei Leonov in a spacesuit against a black cosmic background, with the red-lettered title, "This man walked in space." Leonov's historic twenty minutes in space, on March 18, 1965, as the first human to perform an extravehicular activity. The fierce USSR-America rivalry in the space race was at its peak. A first-rate document for collectors passionate about the space race, the Cold War, and the history of science. The back cover features an advertisement for Roja-Net Jeunesse hairspray, with the Roja-Net Sisters, "well-coiffed all day long," in its colorful 1960s pop graphic style. Traces of use on the cover, consistent with the document's age. Complete pages.
