For sale: pair of modernist basket armchairs in natural rattan, 1960s design.
Features and specifics:
Design: continuous backrest and seat formed by hot-bent concentric rings (a pattern known as 'mandorla' or 'eye'). This precise bending work is much more technical and significantly rarer on the market than classic models with straight, fan-shaped rods.
Line: sculptural and enveloping shape, in the spirit of Louis Sognot and Janine Abraham's creations.
Materials: bent solid rattan and traditional rattan splint bindings.
Color: original natural golden hue, beautiful period patina.
Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Stable and solid structures, no broken or missing strands, complete and tightly secured original bindings.
