Set of 2 Domus chairs by Ilmari Tapiovaara. Manufactured by De Coene for Knoll International.This is a rare version with square brass joints instead of the usual interlocking screws in the back. Designed for the Domus Academica in Helsinki in 1946, the Domus chair marked the start of Ilmari Tapiovaara’s international career. Solid with no structural problems at all, still suitable for daily use. Reupholstered seating in LIA fabric, Dominique Kieffer by Rubelli Seat height 47cm.
