Product description
This pair of lounge chairs by Oscar Nilsson represents Swedish design from the 1960s. The high-backed silhouette and distinctive wingback form offer a commanding presence, while the vibrant upholstery provides a striking visual contrast to the wooden frame.
Constructed with a solid oak frame, the chairs feature a rich, striped textile upholstery in shades of purple and red. The fabric is detailed with contrasting piping that traces the elegant curves of the armrests and the sweeping lines of the backrest. The chairs rest on tapered wooden legs, finished with subtle metal caps at the base, adding a refined touch to the overall design.
The chairs remain in good condition, preserving their structural integrity and original character. The wooden frames display a natural patina consistent with age, and the upholstery retains its bold coloration. The combination of materials and craftsmanship reflects the enduring quality of mid-century Swedish furniture production.
These lounge chairs are well-suited for a reading nook, a formal living area, or a study. Their classic mid-century modern aesthetic pairs seamlessly with both vintage and contemporary interiors, offering comfortable seating with a distinct architectural presence.
