Pair of blue and pink pendant lamps designed by Ferruccio Laviani, a prestigious Italian architect and designer with an internationally recognized style. This is the FL/Y model, one of his signature colors, an icon of the brand, Kartell, and the artist. They are made of Altuglas, a highly malleable material that allows for intricate shapes like this one without losing its strength. It is a combination of acrylic thermoplastic resins, which creates a flexible and lightweight material known as "acrylic glass." It is the perfect combination of strength and a perfect finish, with excellent optical clarity. The unique transparency of the material and the brilliance of the colors are reminiscent of the sparkles produced by a soap bubble when reflected in light. Furthermore, the shape of the lampshade is not perfectly hemispherical; the intersection plane is slightly below the height of the diameter, thus capturing the greatest amount of light. Ferruccio's unique and pioneering design makes this lamp an exclusive and modern product. About Ferruccio Laviani Pietro Ferruccio Laviani was born in Cremona, Italy, in 1960. He graduated as an architect from the Istituto Professionale Internazionale di Cremona in 1978, and from the Faculty of Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic in 1986. Just five years later, he decided to open his own architectural studio in Milan. Until then, he had been working for Michele De Luchi, where he began to stand out thanks to his creative and innovative projects. Since 1991, he has been the artistic director of Kartell, although during his professional career he has also served as artistic director for other major companies, such as Flos. He is currently developing projects for some of the world's leading design firms, such as Cassina, Molteni & C, Barovier & Toso, Missoni, Swarovski, MisuraEmme, and more. About Kartell The Italian company Kartell is internationally recognized for having brought a material like altuglas to the culture of interior furnishings. It was founded in 1949 by Giulio Castelli, a chemical engineer whose aspiration was to create objects from this material. From the very beginning, he began a fruitful collaboration with the great designer Gino Colombini. From the outset, Kartell's objective was to "brighten up the domestic landscape."
