Product description
A refined and elegant pair of Italian-made bedside tables dating back to the 1940s—a splendid example of late Art Déco style and period interior design.
These bedside tables are distinguished by a masterful interplay of veneers: the front doors and upper drawers are clad in exquisite walnut burl—featuring the characteristic, rich, swirling "partridge-eye" grain—framed along the curved edges and sides by wood veneer with a pronounced horizontal grain.
Each piece comprises an upper drawer and a lower cabinet compartment, accented by stunning, original, contoured handles made of gold-toned and ivory-colored Bakelite with brass detailing.
The robust structure, resting on dual faceted feet, gives the pieces a compact design with a striking, sculptural appeal.
The bedside tables have been polished with oil and shellac; they show normal signs of wear consistent with their age and use.
