Product description
Antique jugs in glazed ceramic, from Central Europe. They form a pair of folk pottery from the early 20th century. Jugs of this kind served in rural homes to store and serve milk, water or wine. Both have a ribbon handle and a wide mouth, with a green glaze decorated with vertical rows of hand-applied cream dots; the larger one has its inner rim glazed in ochre and the smaller one in cream. The green glaze looks deep and glossy on the larger one and more matte on the smaller one, with small chips on the rims and handles. On a sideboard or a wooden table, they bring a deep green to a rustic kitchen or dining room.
