Product description
Title : Public beach

Technique: Acrylic on canvas
Dimensions: 55 × 46 cm
Support : Canvas stretched on frame
Signature : Lower left
Condition : Excellent
In "Plage publique", Olivier Bour plunges us into a seaside scene that is both familiar and strangely distant. Three figures occupy a stylized beach under a parasol, but never look at each other or interact. The whole is treated in clean flat tints, with bold colors - sandy orange, bright sky blue - evoking both summer and a certain abstraction.
The contrast between the title, which evokes a lively, collective place, and the cold, silent composition invites a deeper reading: a reflection on solitude in shared places, on the anonymity of bodies in public space. The work captures what many feel today: being surrounded without really being together.
Ideal for a contemporary art collection or modern decor, this original work is as appealing as it is soothing.
Olivier Bour (b. 1959, Le Havre) is a contemporary French painter based in Angers. With a degree in plastic arts and art history from the Sorbonne, he has developed a refined, poetic visual universe, somewhere between stylized figuration and modern graphics. His works can be found in several collections in France and abroad.
