Iris Hartman (1958)
It always starts with an image that begins to form after I have read or seen something and then gradually begins to translate into form and color.
My work can be called landscape abstract and they are often combinations of clean lines/objects in an alienating landscape.
The linear forms combined with colors and the layering of paint in a painting are combinations that continually captivate me.
The intention is not to present the viewer with a ready-made image, there should be enough room to let his or her feelings determine themselves.
