Beautiful portrait of a small flycatcher, on sheet music. The background color is green and the edges of the canvas are old blue-grey. This painting was created quite recently, in 2023. This painting is part of a series of portraits of Dutch birds, created during the corona period. This inspired me to view nature through a magnifying glass. Magnifying the small! Painted by Britt Kleiberg 1980, Amersfoort. Studio located in Harderwijk. Britt paints animals from all over the world with a story. During the corona period, she focused extra attention on Dutch birds! - She graduated in Graphic Design and Styling before finding her calling in contemporary art. Born into a family with a healthy interest in art, she came into contact with art early on and started painting when she was 10 years old. She enjoyed visiting museums and is grateful for the early education she received. It has given her the background for her current journey as a contemporary artist. Positivity, colors, and freedom to move. The use of color is an important part of her artistic vocabulary: 'Colors make people happy, and I want to bring joy and positivity into the world.' Her color palette can represent an animal's natural environment, hunting, or an emotion, depending on what she wants to communicate. And however subdued it may be, the background is part of it. She uses strange little shapes of color to 'fill' her animals. "These represent imaginary continents," she explains, "and can represent the areas where the animal belongs, or where it wants to be. In my artistic world, anything is possible. My animals can roam freely." See more:
