The combination of the vibrant, bright green background with the almost "doodle-like" black flowers and the abstract splashes of color gives it a very playful and cheerful appearance.
Here are a few observations regarding the style you see in this work by Paul Megens:
Contrast: The strong contrast between the black lines of the flowers and the saturated colors (pink, yellow, orange, blue) makes the flowers seem to really leap off the canvas.
Texture and Technique: It appears that thick paint lines (perhaps from a squeeze bottle) were used for the flower contours, which provides a beautiful relief and depth. The background with the vertical color streaks and splashes adds a wonderfully dynamic, almost "wild" element to the composition.
