Private sellerProduct description
For sale: an unsociably raw painting by the Flemish artist Jean-Christophe Wallaert.
Jean-Christophe is the son of the widely known and respected Leie painter Martin Wallaert. While his father made a name for himself with traditional, atmospheric landscapes and portraits, Jean-Christophe deliberately breaks with that to create a completely unique, wild visual language.
This specific canvas is the ultimate portrait of that one incredibly annoying parasite we all know. The type that immediately sucks the air out of a room with her gloomy mood if not all attention goes to HER. This is the exact rotten face she makes when she has skillfully ruined the atmosphere again and feels completely misunderstood and wronged by life for the umpteenth time.
Social graces? Zero. Sensing boundaries? Not at all. If you want to be left alone, this emotional vampire will just relentlessly pursue you. It's no coincidence that such people are known as 'The Exorcist'. Wallaert has brilliantly captured this pure, unfiltered terror with bold lines in charcoal and pastel.
