Colors, dynamic compositions, and rich textures. Her artistic journey began after a 30-year career as a professional dancer, choreographer, and creative director in the theater and event industry. In 2001, she decided to broaden her expressive possibilities and studied painting and drawing at an academy in Belgium, supplemented by self-taught studies.
Hendriks' work reflects fragments of her life, the world, and the people around her. She brings these to life with great expression, color, and passion. Her paintings often feature multiple layers, streams of paint, and thick structures, creating a clear signature. These elements are based on the emotions of the moment, transforming her theatrical past into powerful, dynamic, and abstract paintings. She considers this a new way of choreographing, using canvas and paint instead of dancers and stage.
In her "Woman Power" series, Hendriks combines abstraction and figurative images to amplify each other's effect. With her work, she aims to distract people from our increasingly busy world. The thick, textured surfaces express her colorful thoughts on canvas; the splashes and flows of paint and the use of different materials are based on her emotions of the moment. Her motto is: "Paint happens; Wherever we have spoken openly, we have (actually) said nothing. But where we have written something in code and in pictures, we have concealed the truth."
Hendriks also works on commission and is open to various ideas and requests from clients. She offers custom-made paintings tailored to the client's vision and preferences, both abstract and figurative. Each piece is unique and inspired by the client's specific wishes.
Her work has been exhibited in various galleries across Europe, and she regularly shares her creations on social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.
