JANET TIMMERIJE
Her talent could have been discovered earlier had she gone to art school after high school. But apparently she wasn't ready for it yet. However, her urge to paint did not seem to be tamed. She took drawing and painting lessons with various artists. In 2006 she temporarily studied at the Art Academy in Enschede.
After the cautious restart as an artist, her work is recognized and appreciated: she wins art prizes and her paintings are sold both nationally and internationally. It is clear: Janet is an interpreter of original, colorful and cheerful art. Admirers recognize these special traits: the maker loves her subject and painting. When we take a look at her style, we can conclude that she has derived her strength from her own style. There is momentum in her work; at the start it is often still unclear what the final result will look like.
Animals are an important part of her work and their common denominator: the eyes. Eyes are very important. When you look at her paintings, you recognize this. In her performances, the eyes maintain contact with each other and with people. She paints lively, cheerful and colorful scenes, depicting her interpretation of the world around her in powerful strokes. She uses expressive black lines and bright colours. The result invites you to touch and often elicits a (smile) smile from the viewer. Her artworks always leave room for the imagination. They are not finely elaborated realistic scenes, but smoothly set up, recognizable fantasy images, which many people enjoy.
Her canvases are sold with great regularity, both at home and abroad.
