Product description
A special example of Belgian mid-century design. This beautiful Paola highboard, designed by Oswald Vermaercke for the Belgian furniture manufacturer V-Form, combines a refined design with the warm appearance of teak wood.
The cabinet is characterized by its sleek, asymmetrical layout, subtly rounded details, and the characteristic base with slender, tapered legs. The carefully elaborated lines and natural wood grain give this vintage furniture its timeless character.
What makes this piece extra special is its excellent original condition and the presence of the original glass sliding doors.
The upper section combines a wooden sliding door with a display cabinet space, equipped with two glass sliding panels and wooden shelves. Ideal for presenting ceramics, glassware, books, or special design objects.
At the bottom, two wooden sliding doors offer additional storage space, making this highboard not only a striking design piece but also a particularly functional piece of furniture.
The Paola collection by Oswald Vermaercke reflects the influence of Scandinavian modernism on Belgian furniture design from the 1950s and 1960s. The combination of minimalist lines, thoughtful functionality, and refined woodwork still makes this design particularly attractive today.
A characterful Belgian vintage design cabinet that fits perfectly into a mid-century modern, Scandinavian, or contemporary interior.
Condition
This Oswald Vermaercke Paola highboard is in excellent original vintage condition.
The teak wood has retained its beautiful warm color, and the original glass sliding doors are also fully present. The furniture has been exceptionally well preserved, with minimal signs of use appropriate for its age.
A beautiful and complete example for lovers and collectors of authentic Belgian design.
