About the designer: Italian lighting designer Oscar Torlasco (Rome, 1934-2004) designed for many lighting manufacturers including Stilkronen, Stilnovo and Esperia, but for most of his career he designed for Milan-based Lumi. Torlasco was active in the 50's, 60's and 70's and used predominantly industrial chromed or bronzed steel for his lighting designs that he combined with luxurious materials such as crystal and marble. His eclectic designs range in style from Italian Art Deco and Hollywood Regency to industrial and Pop Art. The use of optical glass lenses, both in hand-blown glass and cut crystal in his designs, is considered Torlasco's signature as is the seamless rejuvenation of arms of chandelier and wall appliques as in this timeless specimen.
The lamp is in excellent condition with normal signs of age.
