This is an original Pistillo lamp, designed by Studio Tetrarch for the Milanese manufacturer Valenti. The piece is an icon of Italian design from the Space Age era of the late 1960s. This specific example is the large, gold-colored version, known for its sculptural form and dramatic lighting effect.
The lamp is made of metallized plastic with a gold-colored finish and has a diameter of approximately 60 cm and a depth of 30 cm. The design dates from 1969-1970 and was produced in Italy. Its authenticity is confirmed by the original marking on the back: 'VALENTI e C. Milano – Mod. PISTILLO – Dep. Design Studio TETRARCH'. The lamp is designed for use as a wall or ceiling lamp.
According to provenance information, this lamp was originally intended for a luxury yacht but was never installed there. As a result, the object is virtually unused and is in exceptionally good condition for its age, with a well-preserved original finish. The lamp is fully functional.
When switched on, the lamp creates a characteristic radial pattern of light and shadow, adding a dynamic atmosphere to any space. It is a striking object that fits well into an interior with a preference for Mid-Century Modern, Space Age, or eclectic design.
