Original Vintage Martinelli Luce Pipistrello Grande. Designed by Gae Aulenti in the 1960s. This is model 620 and dates from the 1970s. The characteristic shade refers to bat wings; 'pipistrello' means 'bat' in Italian. The lamp has a black lacquered metal base with a telescopic arm, allowing the height to be adjusted between 65 and 85 cm. The shade is made of plastic and has a diameter of approximately 50 cm. Due to its large size, it is perfectly suitable as a floor lamp. The lamp works and the telescopic system functions. It shows some light signs of use and minor damage consistent with its age. The control knob works, but not always completely smoothly. The condition is clearly visible in the photos and the lamp can be tested upon collection.
