Beautiful and authentic Dutch wall unit by Van der Meer from Rucphen, produced in February 1965.
A characteristic piece of furniture from the Dutch mid-century period, crafted in teak and featuring the typical elegant 1960s design with slender, angled legs and a playful, asymmetrical layout.
The unit combines various functions: a spacious display cabinet with glass doors, storage space, drawers, and a characteristic flap. The warm teak color and refined lines make this a striking piece for a vintage, mid-century, or eclectic interior.
The original Van der Meer marking is particularly noteworthy. The factory marking includes the designations “Teak M 114” and “2.65”, which most likely dates the piece to February 1965.
Condition
The unit is in clearly used, authentic vintage condition. Significant signs of wear and damage are visible, consistent with its age of nearly 60 years. Think of scratches, blemishes, and wear on the wood and the finish.
Important: one of the panes of the display section has a crack/damage in the glass. The glass is present but must be treated with care due to the crack. This has been explicitly taken into account in the asking price.
The furniture has not been restored or repainted and has retained its original appearance. For the enthusiast who specifically values authenticity and the look of an original piece of furniture from 1965.
