Product description
Bring authentic 1970s Scandinavian texture into your home with this striking, original landscape oil painting by listed Danish artist Henry Pinderup (1914–1978). Titled "Træerne" (The Trees), this piece is a textbook example of mid-century Nordic expressionism. It features two ancient, skeletal trees reaching dramatically against a swirling, light-filled sky. Pinderup’s signature heavy impasto brushwork gives the canvas an incredible three-dimensional texture that catches ambient room light beautifully. What makes this specific piece a dream find for fine art collectors is the complete, untouched provenance preserved on the back. The reverse side acts as a time capsule, featuring: The original handwritten exhibition registration tag from "Kunst 74" (Art 1974). The original contemporary gallery sale price (750 DKK). The artist's historic home studio address in Junget (Roslev). An archived Danish newspaper clipping from the Skive Folkeblad detailing the artist's traditional, thatched-roof cottage studio. About the Artist: Henry Pinderup was a highly active, self-taught Danish landscape painter who spent decades capturing the raw, rugged beauty of Northern Jylland. Working from 1942 until his death in 1978, his works are cherished pieces of regional Danish art history, celebrated for their organic forms and bold color play. Condition & Attributes: Authenticity: Signed "H. Pinderup" on the bottom right corner of the canvas. Provenance: Retains its historical gallery tags and biographical newspaper backing intact. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The oil paint is structurally stable, highly textured, and the colors remain vibrant. Ready to Hang: Housed in its original, clean-lined mid-century wooden frame with secure hanging hardware.
