Original Kastrup wall lamp designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen for Kastrup Airport and manufactured by Louis Poulsen.
The Kastrup lamp is part of Vilhelm Lauritzen's overall work on Kastrup Airport, where architecture, lighting, and interior design were conceived as a single whole. The lamp's simple, functional expression is a fine example of early Danish modernism.
The model was produced by Louis Poulsen from the 1930s through to the 1960s.
The lamp has been carefully restored. The metal parts have been glass-bead blasted and subsequently professionally lacquered. As a result, it presents itself handsomely and evenly, though with a few minor marks in the painted surface that bear witness to the lamp's age and history.
The lamp is intact and complete. The socket has not been tested, however.
