Product description
For sale is a very beautiful, wonderfully preserved Indian Ceiling light from the 1930s.
This traditional Ceiling light was originally made as a candle or oil lamp in South India and was subsequently electrified to adapt it to modern conditions. It was purchased about 25 years ago from an antique dealer directly in South India.
The large glass bell and the glass canopy are hand-blown, and the brass fitting around the glass bell is elaborately hand-chiseled.
In this excellent condition, this Ceiling light is a very rare highlight of Indian craftsmanship to be found on the European market.
The lamp is in its original 1930s condition, and the subsequently installed electrics are fully functional.
Height 80 cm, Width 17 cm, Depth 17 cm
As this is a private sale, any liability for material defects, warranty, and returns are excluded.
