The Cassina Tube d'Avion Table is a 1928 design by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand. His influence on the International Style was so great that he is sometimes called the architect of the 20th century. Born Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, he designed the table, like the other designs in the LC series, together with his cousin Pierre Jeanneret. The idea behind the table was to create a clear distinction between the top and the base. Le Corbusier achieved this not only by combining natural materials with industrial ones, but also by combining craftsmanship with machine production.
The supports on the top of this steel base not only give the table a robust appearance but also allow for 5 centimeters of height adjustment.
