Antique Orientalist Statuette – Moorish Figure in Cold-Painted Spelter (Circa 1900)
Description: A superb antique statuette from the late 19th to early 20th century (Belle Époque/Art Deco period), belonging to the renowned Orientalist movement.
It depicts a finely detailed seated Moorish figure, wearing a textured gold turban and a draped green tunic. The figure holds a small receptacle that could serve as a candle holder, a miniature container, or simply as a beautiful display piece.
Made of cold-painted spelter (in the style and technique of the famous Viennese bronzes), this authentic piece has retained its original polychromy. It displays a beautiful natural patina: the slight wear to the paint testifies to its century-long history and gives it a captivating charm and character. (Note: There are some discreet scratches from use, but they are located exclusively under the base and on the inside, so they are completely invisible once the object is displayed.)
