Product description
This is an organic ceramic Ikebana vase by the Danish artist Erik Græser, dating from the 1960s. Its sculptural, pebble-like form is characteristic of the period's studio pottery movement, designed for the Japanese art of flower arranging. Crafted from stoneware, the vase features a complex, multi-tonal glaze with layers of moss green, earthy brown, and deep black. The surface is punctuated by numerous openings of varying sizes, intended to hold individual stems. Produced in Denmark, this piece is an excellent example of Scandinavian Mid-Century ceramic art, where natural forms and functional design intersect. The vase is presented in very good condition, consistent with its age. The glossy glaze remains vibrant, and the unglazed base shows the maker's mark, confirming its authenticity and origin. The substantial weight and handcrafted nature give the object a distinct tactile quality.
