Product description
A Mid-Century Modern Bohemian glass art masterpiece, heavy and highly sculptural.
This large catch-all dish or centerpiece was designed by master glassmaker Josef Hospodka for the famous Czechoslovakian manufacturer Chřibská Glassworks during the 1960s. It perfectly embodies the artist's organic "Medusa" style, characterized by a wide, free-form neck with wavy, scalloped edges that play dramatically with light.
The piece uses the prestigious Sommerso method, encasing a two-tone core with vibrant shades of fuchsia pink and amethyst purple within a thick, heavy translucent crystal envelope. The faceted base is hot-cut to ensure perfect stability.
