Product description
Very comfortable “Orchidée” lounge armchairs by Michel Cadestin for Airborne International. This model was produced in France in 1968. The “Orchidée” was one of the Cadestin models commissioned by the Centre Pompidou Museum in Paris. The chairs are upholstered in a wonderfully soft (off-)white corduroy fabric. The base features four swivel casters to allow the chair to be easily moved around a room. The chairs are in very beautiful condition with a few light signs of use. Michel Cadestin was born in France in 1942. He is an interior designer and architect who aims to offer functional and fun designs through his work that are accessible to the majority. His creations are varied, as evidenced by the furniture intended for the Centre Georges Pompidou, such as the Karate armchair (1960s) and the Orchidée lounge chair. Cadestin studied at the famous Ecole Boulle and the National School of Decorative Arts. Cadestin received the René Gabriel Prize for his work.
