Bubbled glass
Good condition, a chip on the ladle
A cylindrical bowl with a flared rim, eight tumblers on short stems, and a matching ladle, all in the same smoked glass where bubbles are held in regular suspension.
Verrerie de Biot was founded in 1956 by Éloï Monod, a ceramic engineer. The bubble trapped in the mass first appeared as a manufacturing defect: Monod chose to keep it, then to make it the signature of the workshop. Since then, bubbled glass has been among the rare post-war French productions identifiable by their material alone.
Complete and homogeneous set — bowl, ladle, and eight tumblers come from the same production.
