Kortrijk, BelgiumView all items from this sellerWe are in possession of 10 original and unique Gispen chairs from 1935. They are also said to be mentioned in the book Gispen 100 years.
They are structurally in order, the undersides are certainly in need of repair, as well as a few seat cushions.
We want to sell these, of course we know that these are of value.
Here is another part of the email we received back from the Gispen Collection Foundation.
" Dear Sir ,
The chairs you have are indeed quite unique.
The model has characteristics of the Gispen armchair no. 414, in which the tubular frame of the backrest has been left visible. This model was designed in 1935, so nicely in line with your seats.
In the period 1935-1937, Gispen designed a number of armchair models especially for clients. These models were never put into production for other customers. The series of armchairs have also not been given a number, as usual, but letter combinations. Your seats are very similar to model AA, where your seats are upholstered in skai leather and not upholstered.
