Opaline globe ceiling light, Art Deco/industrial — 1930s-1950s
An antique ceiling light composed of a blown white opaline glass globe, spherical in shape, mounted on a white glazed porcelain base with cut corners (octagonal shape). The globe is secured by 3 brass wing screws, allowing for easy disassembly for maintenance or bulb replacement — a typical system for utilitarian lighting in France or Central Europe during this period, commonly found in bathrooms, building lobbies, stairwells, or bourgeois interiors.
The opaline diffuses a soft and even light, while the white porcelain, heat-resistant and easy to clean, was preferred for water-related areas. The overall condition is very good.
